Henri Dutilleux (1916-2013)
Very sad to learn that French Composer
Henri Dutilleux passed away today at age 97. I collaborated with him twice in
Montreal (with Charles Dutoit and Montreal Symphony), twice in Carnegie Hall
(with Isaac Stern), Boston's Symphony Hall and then at Tanglewood in the summer
of 1995. What a wonderful gentle person with an incredible gift for color and
timbre in his music.
